Committee Recommendations
The Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System Area Prescribing Committee has agreed a change in traffic light status for Perampanel.
Perampanel for treatment in all licensed indications will be given a BLUE (with specialist initiation and supply for at least 12 weeks) traffic light status.
The PCN supported the principles of switching from brand to generic medications (not recommended in the elderly) as per national guidelines in September 2013 and the proposed place in therapy of the anti-epileptic drugs which is based on NICE guidance was also discussed at that time.
