The Department of Health circulated a letter (see below) highlighting the growing concerns about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) which raises awareness that gonorrhoea is at risk of becoming an untreatable disease. In line with national guidance gonorrhoea should be treated with dual therapy of injectable ceftriaxone and oral azithromycin. The letter highlights the importance that suboptimal treatment does not occur.
