Guideline’s, Requests and Information Portal
The Guideline’s, Requests and Information Portal (‘GRIP’) is an innovative resource which can be accessed by healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care and by patients. GRIP provides guidance and key information on services and procedures within Surrey. Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have a responsibility to prioritise the funding of treatments that are proven to be clinically effective and necessary on health grounds. They follow national and local policies to do so which includes:
- Recommendations, decisions, policy statements and submission papers from our Surrey Clinical Priorities Committee
- Links to associated NICE Appraisals
- Local Policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines relating to the use of procedures
- Materials used in the course of optimising the use of services e.g. audit tools, letter templates
The site is fully searchable (by condition, body part, treatment, and clinical pathway) or can be navigated using the A-Z “List of procedures”. Clinicians can use the site to complete funding request applications. Patients, and clinicians with patients, registered with a general practice in the Surrey Downs CCG area, can also view planned care pathway guidelines, in much the same way.
Every effort is made to ensure that all information is up to date and comprehensive. This site is for advice and information only and any clinical decisions will still be the overall responsibility of practicing clinicians. Materials on this site may be downloaded / copied by people employed by its member organisations for NHS activities.
Any person who is not employed by member organisations who wishes to use or copy the materials for their own use should first seek permission and acknowledge the original source. GRIP is provided by the Surrey Collaborative on behalf of the five Surrey CCGs – East Surrey CCG, Guildford and Waverley CCG, North West Surrey CCG, Surrey Downs CCG, and Surrey Heath CCG.
The GRIP is maintained by members of the Planned Care Team which includes the Individual Funding Requests Team who provide services to the Surrey Collaborative.
